Colorado Increases VC Dollars in 2005

It was an impressive 2005 for companies raising venture capital in Colorado. In 2004 total dollars raised was $386.3 million, while 2005 saw a dramatic increase by some 40%, totaling $647.2 million raised (data from Ernst & Young LLP and VentureOne Quarterly Venture Capital Report). Colorado surpassed the U.S. trend numbers; where $22.13 billion in total VC investments (in 2,239 deals) represented only a 2% increase over 2004 in capital invested nationally.
